Talk to Vince at FLT, there's a link to the right>>>>> I'd recommend their Level 5 4L65E. As long as you're staying NA and not going to crazy, you should be able to build the 60E to hold up. Alot of guys will recommend swapping in an 80E, but I don't think you'll need it for 400 rwhp.

As far as the stock 60E goes, mine went at 59.5k behind my mild 5.3...I've been running around with no torque management for 23K though FWIW. I think that my converter took a dump actually.

My old built 60e lasted 1 month. I have a stock 80e now and has been kickin for the last year with no issues.

160K miles . . .HD2, vette servo, stock 4th, no cooler (just the radiator) . . no abuse mode, no TM, barks and spins 1-2 shift . . .

. . . converter vibrates the floor when/while it locks up

the vids in my sig were a tipical day

It all depends on how you drive. If you drive normally it will last just fine.

My well documented position if anyone is 2wd is to get a low mile 4l80e for 1/4 the price of a fully built 4l60e. Not only does it make great financial sense, it's also a much stronger trans.
