I havent crawled back under to take a look since im so pissed right now, especially since ive had a stronger spicer ujoint for about a month now 
Did the tailhousing on the trans shear off or what? Any guesses what im looking at?

I would get the transmission completely rebuilt. Anytime a shock of that magnitude is sent through the drivetrain, you can be pretty certain that something else internal is damaged.

I had just merged onto the interstate and gave it some gas then a loud hum then a second later a lot of clanging and smoke (im guessing the fluid hitting the exhaust) and pulled over to the shoulder not half a mile from the on ramp. Engine and rear are fine, just driveshaft, tcase, and trans are the unknowns.
Any bets on the torque converter? Its a vig triple disc which I was planning to keep when I upgraded the trans.
I wonder if the guy that rebuilt it will warranty it....

The driveshaft looks fine aside from the ujoint of course. The Tcase was literally just sitting on top of the skid plate wedged in place by the two driveshafts. The output shaft of the trans is scored pretty good.
Damn.
