Smile Little Help

Getting ready to rebuild a 4l80e out of my z71 and guidance would be great.

Im assuming you have trans mods/ shift kit?

I know the last two 60E shift kits i installed had a clip to install in the valve body to prevent irregular TCC lockup.

Wrong. I told you you had a possible converter problem, but without opening it up we had no way of knowing. Nor did I tell you to buy another converter.

I don't own a set of x-ray vision goggles, so I can't tell 100% whats wrong with a transmission without it in front of me.

Everybody with a transmission problem jumps to the conclusion that it's a solenoid. When in fact, these transmissions very seldem have solenoid problems.

I'm not saying this is the case here. The best thing to do is to tear it down, and see what we are working with. The TCC is just like any other clutch, if it slips, it WILL burn. So it may just be a solenoid, but what kind of condition is clutch in now?

^^^Ok dude You know damn well you kept blowing me off for months saying it was the converter or it was the tune even though it did it with the stock converter and an aftermarket, and the tune hadn't changed. So I bought another converter and what do you know it still did it... Finally I got you to look at it, and 15 mins later you call and say it is a cracked solenoid.... This all took place over 4-6 months at least.

bummer, just try the solenoid.

it honestly should have been replaced at the time of the rebuild.
