i don't think you need to disable the lock up... the only thing it might hurt is the soleniod that your replacing anyways... but then again i know zero about transmissions.

Mine started doing a while back. Cant remember if it was the servo not seated 100% or false knock. Pretty sure it was one of those things though

I haven't touched anything in my tranny since I had chase build it almost 2 years ago. Unless something plastic (like a solenoid) cracked inside, there shouldn't be any issues with it.

order up a solenoid theyre like 30 bucks and take about an hour to drop the pan and replace the solenoid.
