What's up with this 80E output shaft?

That's a truck bolt on yoke output shaft. It has an oring that keeps oil out off the splines so it doesn't leak out from the bolt. The part of the shaft that holds the oring is too large to fit the yoke over. You need to machine down the shaft at the oring area or counterbore the yoke, or get a different output shaft.

91-96 bolt on yoke with O-ring 7 7/8 long. Has lube hole in bushing journal. Requires a shorter Yoke.
They also made a bolt on yoke with no oring that has full splines that is 8 1/8 long and has full splines with a lube hole for 91-96.
97-up has no lube hole and could use either style without a lube hole.

I'm not thrilled about the huge loss of spline engagement. Where this one bottoms out is about where it used to sit on the full splined shaft at ride height. So there would have been even more engagement when the truck squats at launch. That's 1.5 to 2 inches less spline when under high load.

Builder says it is a slip yoke shaft.
Going to call DSI to see if there is a counter bored or 1" shorter yoke available rather than hacking up this $250 yoke. Where the yoke bottoms now is approximately my installed depth, so I need about another 1 inch.
