Ok I'm putting an 04 5.3 into a 1999 s10 2wd. Im just not sure what way to go on the transmission I have for free a 700r4 from a older v6 s10 not sure if thats a great choice I would have the tci streetfighter kit go into it and the matched converter or do I save a little more and buy a stock 4l60e from a fullsize throw it in and go then get it built later? My future goals would be to have a decent cam/tune/and small shot of nitrous it would be awhile before all that happens I'm just looking for some ideas any help/suggestions are welcome Thanks in advance. This will be a daily driven truck and wanting decent fuel economy as well

personally id go with the 60e if possible. it has the lockup torque converter with lowers cruising rpms even more

 

60e should be fine, S10s are light

 

I agree...light truck, 60e with shift kit....all set.

 

Built 60e, beat the **** out of...

 

since you stated its gonna be a dd, go 60e, otherwise th-400 for the track
