What kind of transmission?

I just had the transmission in my 2003 Chevy 1500 Silverado 4.3L V6 go out. I want to pick one up used but do not know what kind it is. Oh and its an AUTO.

Scheeew ok my work van has a 4.3 with the 4l60e and I sure hope it doesnt go out on me yet.

So does this mean i can pickup any 4l60e from ls1tech and throw it in? Will that work? or are there variations of the 4l60e year to year?
