Default What gears to go with ??

I have a 2003 silverado ext cab 5.3l my mods are 228-230 cam hooker long tube headers and cold air intake also built trans, well my rearend has 3:42 gears and the truck just feels sluggish and dosnt pick up speed like a stock truck would I do have the truck street tuned for now but gonna go with a Dyno tune after I replace my rearend (spider gears going out) my question is should I go with a rearend set up with 373 gears or 4:10 gears? I don't wanna throw my mpg away as I'm getting pretty good mpg now but if like to have my truck faster so maybe a 3-5 mpg lose I can deal with that. What do you guys think?

I'm at 2250 at 70mph on 29.5" tires with 4.10 gearing.

What size tire are you running, and what torque converter do you have?

Filling out your sig would help.

Sorry I didn't post that, it's a 3200 stall and I'm on stock rims and tires witch are 245/65-17 and I I will be buying 20-22 inch wheels pretty soon and they will be 265/35-20 or 22

I'd probably go with a 4.30 or 4.56 gear since you're planning some heavy-*** rolling stock. Those heavy wheels are counter-productive for launching. It's almost like two steps forward & one step back.

4.10s seem like a great setup for you.

4.10's and go with 20's if you're dead set on upgrading wheels. I wouldn't go bigger than that
