Default What Brake fluid with Zo6 brakes

I will soon be installing Zo6 6 piston front calipers, 15" rotors and steel braided lines all the way around on my 02 Sierra.

Question is how much brake fluid will I need? Any suggestions on what would be the best fluid to use?

Unless you are towing 7000 lbs in mountains, you can use the stock slotted/drilled rotors, when they wear out save money and buy solid rotors. For brake fluid, use either Ford Blue or a good quality Dot 4 fluid. You more than likely do not need the 600+ temp fluid. Ideally you want fresh fluid that is less than 2 years old and factory sealed.

When putting the brake fluid in, it helps if you are using a contrasting color fluid as that way you know when the fresh fluid has gone through the entire rotor. It helps if you have a friend who has a tech 2 or equivalent scanner to bleed the ABS system as well. My self I would get 4 pints of fresh fluid, you can usually find a date code on the container, and you should have a pint of unopened fluid left. Next year bleed the brakes in the spring with the unopened can. On my Corvette, I bleed the brakes before each race event and use a fresh pint each time. I then evacuate the clutch reservoir and put the left over fluid in its place.
