Default Weak points

Wondering were to spend the $. But then not much.

00 ecsb price tag $1000 high miles..good oil pres. 5.3 2wd
Cai-$65
E-Fans-$20 ea.
Bullet muffler-$60

Want to go w a 78mm nitrous plate & a good cam to get the most power out of the spray.
Where should i get a kit w all the bells & whistles. I want the throttle switch & the rpm cut off stuff.
Pacesetter LT's
What tune?
Nelson fan harness.

I got a 2 piece driveshaft & need new u-joints & carrier....should i go aftermarket or stock.

Want to go 4l80 trans after this 1 breaks.

Is there a bigger bolt in rear or else i'm going to find a 10bolt w posi & bigger gear.

Been searching around. Alot of threads are old. I like the sticky on in the classifieds for the crossmember. I would like track bars. I got my interior gutted no rear or center console & bumper, spare, tailgates gone. Are air bags easy to pull out?
How much lighter is a racing seat compared to stock no power seat? Cuz they are pretty light seems.

Just looking for opinions. Or good threads to follow.

00 ecsb price tag $1000 high miles..good oil pres. 5.3 2wd - what do you mean by high miles? What do you think will happen to this when it gets nitrous?

Want to go w a 78mm nitrous plate & a good cam to get the most power out of the spray. Where should i get a kit w all the bells & whistles.- I use NX plate system, but with older NX-Pro Power solenoids. If you want to buy the kit new and complete, go to the NX site. Nitrous Outlet also makes nice plate kits.

I want the throttle switch & the rpm cut off stuff. - This will be an option on any kit. I like the NOS WOT/RPM switch and the Lingenfelter RPM-002. Both work great. NOS costs a bit more but is easier to set up.

What tune? -Justin at Blackbear tuned mine and can set you up with a custom OS tune that will make it so you don't have to switch tunes when running nitrous.

Is there a bigger bolt in rear or else i'm going to find a 10bolt w posi & bigger gear. - Since your 2WD, I would go with the 14bolt full floater (8 lug) or semi-floater (6 lug) if you don't want to change the front hubs or have mismatched rims. You can find ff with stock with 4.10s.

Stock drive shaft is just fine, just replace the parts you need to and run it as is.

The 10 bolt rear end is fine aswell, but the gears inside arent the best and if it's got a G80, it will grenade at some point. Then just upgrade to a different gear ratio and either a locker, posi, true trac or something. A 14 bolt adds alot of weight and I don't think you need to go that route.

So just get a 4wd rear swapped when this blows? Does that upgrade mine with some kind of locker & higher gear?

Staying 4l60 trans & 10 bolt for sure. Now what should i do to my trans, build it or buy a stage 2 4l60?

Going with:
Pacesetter long tubes(painted) w crossover.
Gm NX wet plate kit 100 shot.
W rpm window switch, gauges, & throttle switch.
Tune w cat delete

Purchased
Cai
Race bullet muffler

14b is a lot heavier than you want. Just upgradr the g80 to an eaton posi and youll be fine with that.

Race seats wont save much, maybe 10lb each.

You need to upgradr the drivesahft with an aftermarket balanced unit if you plan to go over 100mph. Stock dshafts tend to explode.

You don't Need a 4l80 that's way to much tranny for a 5.3, I say get the on3 turbo it's probably the best bang for your buck. And nx has great systems but if you want a complete nitrous plate with all the bells and whistles it won't be cheap.

I'm doing this build to break the ice. I'd like to build a nice tranny over time. I'm going to get a LQ9
this winter if i like. Then 1 day get a nice clean texas rcsb & bring it back to detroit. To swap.
