Vibration Help????

Those videos can be long & boring to watch, but the technology really is amazing. I ran one of the largest tire stores in Alaska for 3 years, and to be honest, the quality of tires these days isn't really very good(in relation to uniformity, actually being round, etc). Today's consumers are more concerned with how a tire looks, than how it will perform. Between pricing wars, and marketing, the tire manufacturers know this, and cut corners. New tools like the road force balancing machines become necessary in order to just make a car ride like it is supposed to.
GM is concerned with how their vehicles ride and handle. This is why they require their new vehicles to be equipped with TPC spec tires. Look at any new GM vehicle on the lot. The tires have a "TPC spec" number molded into the sidewall. That means that the tire manufacturer had to turn out tires that actually passed tests regarding ride quality and handling. TPC spec tires cost much more than the same non-TPC spec tire that is typically sold at your local tire store.

It appears that Roger hooked you up with the info
The basic idea is to simulate what the tire will be like when it's on the road, as the tire will take on different characteristics with a load on it
That's interesting and good to know, great info Roger
The General has come a long way since say the 80's when it was planned obsolescence and paint that flaked off after it sat out in the sun!
