Default Valuetrac? Gone?

Okay I am trying to decide between traction aids here. Time to put out the one tire fire.
I hear valuetrac is gone correct? An eBay seller claims to still have them, but I don't believe it. He claims they are GM haha yeah right.

Trutrac is my next option, but with the cost increase and some recent bad reviews I am a little hesitant. $485 from Ron's.

Another option is this RMS power grip which appears to be a Yukon duragrip/eaton copy. It is $365 from Ron's.
GM 8.5 RMS Powergrip Posi Differential 30 Spline 8.6 - Ron's Machining Service

I will skip the G80 for strength reasons since I will have a cammed 4.8, 3.90 gears, on 150shot before too long and don't want to risk it.

A true locker doesn't seem like a good idea considering I see some snow/rain from time to time and it gets a fair bit of mileage. Same goes for a mini spool.

Anyone have another option or suggestion. I will also snag a used or second hand unit if someone has one.

I thought RMS made a Trutrac-like posi, I guess I was wrong. I wonder what the story of RMS is? Perhaps they are the Valuetrac of clutch-type posi? I'm still rocking my Valuetrac. After 16 months and 10K+ miles at ~600rwhp it's still holding up well. I'll be doing a gear swap here soon and will be able to see how worn out it is. If it's worn I'll probably go with a Yukon duragrip, or maybe the RMS if there is good feedback on it.

Edit: I'm guessing RMS stand for Ron's Machining Service, he's the only one that sells them.

Yes the valuetrac was a knockoff of the trutrac from what ive been told. Its got gears instead of clutches like others. I have one and would buy it again, dont know why they got rid of em. Cant help you on anything else so....

The valuetrac was produced in the same factory with slightly different tolerances(little bit sharper teeth according to what I remember) by USA standard gear. They were expected to whine a little bit more. I am guessing profit wasn't good enough. I guess we really need Ron in here to explain if his power grip is in fact a copy. It looks like good quality.

That's what Ron told me too, that Valuetracs were made in the same factory as the Truetrac, but were units that were "rejected" because they weren'y within tolerance, but still usable. However, pictures of the two show slightly different designs, indicating they weren't made in the same factory, or perhaps one was an older model of the other. Not sure what the real story is...

I wonder if "RMS" brand has a similar story.

Buy a real locker and never worry about your diff again. I live in the land of ice and snow.... the Detroit is hands down the best thing I ever did to my stock height, stock all terrain tire pavement pounding 05.... Most of what you read about Detroit lockers on the internet is pure and utter bull$hit.... period. Mileage accumulated is irrelevant.... it will probably outlast the rest of your truck.

Trutrac will release going into low power turns. Locker is locked at all times.

I am very hesitant to go true locker considering the cost and the extra stress it can add due to it not liking corners.
