Default using trans pressure port

i know alot seem to use this for hooking up the sender to their trans gauge. But is there anything bad about it? as in, can it hurt the trans at all? just seems odd for some reason making me think it might not be a good idea. I just imaging the sender coming into contact with something inside....but i would like to hook up this trans temp gauge.

thats how you hook it up..
you can get a "T" and put the sending unit on the outlet port of the trans cooling line if you want.

i know thats how i "can" hook it up.....but is there any possibility of that causing damage to the trans?

no no damage possibility. i have had my trans sender in there for a while then got a performabuilt trans and they told me to put it in there as well. they also advised me that putting the sender in the pressure port usually reads temps about 15-20* higher then it actually is, which i can attest to because i just put my escalade cluster in and it reads about 15* cooler than my pillar mounted trans temp gauge.

It it was a "bad" place to put it, do you think people would be putting it there?

Yea, I've heard that it's an easy solution, but not the most accurate place to get your temps from. I'd think that the best route would be to get a bung welded into the trans pan, but that's a little more costly and possibly time consuming.
