Default Universal traction bars

I bought some chrome plated traction bars off summit in like january for the vehicle i had at the time, they wouldn't fit b/c of the way the shock bracket was. Got the truck, still didn't work for same reason. Well when i got my 4/6 drop and rear flip kit, they went on perfectly, just have to take a little off the top of one of the u-bolts on the kit b/c it sits right under the bag. So if any of ya'll have a rear flip kit and want some cheap traction bars, summit has them for like 60 bucks. I still only spin one so it's not helping me much anyhow until i get the eaton, but they look awesome sittin under there.

ya.. i had those traction bars and returned them bc they wouldnt fit.... apprently they are universal for everything BUT our trucks. I think its more like for an s-10 or blazer or something. But thts cool you got them to work with the flip kit.

Crawl under a any old muscle car with leaf springs.. Its always axle over springs. Our trucks are backwards so they wont work with out some modification.

They may go on that way but they would be useless. All that style does is limit axle wrap which causes wheel hop and distorted pinion angle. If it was on the top of the spring they would do nothing.

Full size trucks are almost always spring over suspensions for ground clearance. Those universals work well on cars and small pick-ups. They have been none to break springs though, so be careful. The can also contribute to axle wrap if they dont contact the front spring eye, although they would still limit wheel hop.

BTW- when they do them upside down they install them pointing rearward as far as I know.

Forgot to mention that. On top of the springs and facing towards the back is what I have heard also from a few people. I dont know how good it works though.
