Default Truetrac for front AND rear?

Hey guys, I am getting to putting the truetrac in my rear end, and since I have 4WD, I was wondering about doing the front as well since I (and all of us) have more weight over the front axle than the rear.

So ...... How much more off the line performance would you guess I would get if I launched in 4WD with two truetrac's compared to 2WD and with the performance mods I have now would this put too much stress on transfer case/tranny? Is it worthwhile for on pavement performance?

Thanks

Your going to have a lot of weight transfer to the rear of the truck, that's where the truetrac is going to help. The front is just giving that little extra traction that's required.

Personally, i wouldn't waste the money. but that's just me

I dont think he said anything about caltracs. Does Eaton even make a true trac for the front differential?

Hey Guys;

I am asking about Eaton Truetracs. In another thread someone mentioned that they do make Truetracs for the 2008 truck, so I got off my butt and called Eaton, they do not make anything for the front (as mentioned above) but they do make them for the rear.

Do any of you guys prefer racing in 4WD? Does the extra grip help you launch faster on pavement? or does the extra work the motor has to do negate that?

take it to the track and answer your question. Tires will make a difference. If your making good 60's in 2wd, flip it into 4wd and see what you put down.
But with a Maggie, I'd say 4wd all the way

yeah run it in 4wd. i do. you might lose 1 or 2 mph at the traps, but the time you gain in the 60 foot is much more beneficial.

Since he was asking about lockers for the front and rear, does anyone know a company making lockers for the front 8.25?

I play on and off road, and the front locked would help.
Ive looked a little, and didnt find anything.

as far as i know, nobody makes one, they consider the housing assembly to be too weak to handle the extra power if one tire can't spin on dry pavement.
