Default truck vs car torque convertor

I have a new 3400 multi disc tc from F-body LS1 4L60E. I want to install it in my 2003 chevy silverado 4L65E.

Is it going to fit?

If not, what is the difference between truck and car TC. I had someone tell me it will but I want to double check with people who done it.

I don't want to remove my truck transmission beforing making sure it will fit because I am paying someone else to do it.

What size is stock TC on the truck?

The car TC that I have is a little small maybe 8.5". Any effect of smaller size TC on tranmission heat? I have stock trans cooler on my truck.

I would call the converter manufacturer and see what they think it would stall to behind your truck. It may stall a little lower. You may already know this though.

I would be more than happy if it will stall at 2800-3000.

FWIW,

I have a converter that was said to stall to 4400 in a f body and PI said it would stall to around 3600 in my truck. I haven't used it yet. Just food for thought.

Another issue to consider is the lock up clutch. I went through this with my art carr, if the converter was designed for a car, the clutches may not hold when trying to lock in a truck.

Well, my truck is very light being stepside short bed weighing 4300Ibs.

TC came as part of 4L60E level 5 built by RPM Transmission for F-body that is supposed to be able to handle 600rwhp.

So, not sure if I should worry about the tc in my little truck.

Also, I checked Circle D and they list truck and Car LS1 TC with same part number.

You guys are correct, converters are the same. But might stall a little different because of weight. And like mentioned, the lock up clutch might cause issues with towing and such....
