Update, I called Eaton tech line today and was asked if I was using synthetic gear oil? Yes. The said to drain and refill unit with conventional mineral based gear oil and my problem will be solved. When I explained what was happening with my rear end in the water box, the tech guy said "I bet you are using synthetic fluid?" He stated that I'm loosing efficiency with synthetic fluid? I will drain and refill and go to the track this weekend to see?

Can I make a suggestion and run the truck a couple hundred miles before stomping off to the track. Give the new oil a chance to get into the gears. Then check the oil before you go.

I thought synthetic was supposed to reduce the friction for clutch type differentials. I thought the tru-trac used hellical gears? I have synthetic in my tru-trac, it locks up good.
