Default Trimming middle Leaf for Assassin Bars

Had my assassin bars for a long time now and haven't gotten around to throwing them on. I do know that the middle leaf doesn't allow the front pad to sit centered on the eyelet. I don't want to remove a leaf spring since I still do haul stuff in the bed every now and then. Can I just take a cutoff wheel and trim off as much as needed on the middle leaf so that they will sit in the correct position? Also, will the front clamp that holds the middle and top leaf together slide back at all since it will most likely be in the area of where I'm cutting?

What i did was remove the center pin that holds the pack together, slid the middle leaf back a few inches, clamped it together, redrilled the center leaf for the pin, the. Put everything back together.

I've seen many members cut that middle leaf, and I always hated the idea of it. I think Corey had a great idea & executed it well. Sure it's a little extra work, but the finished product is much better & cleaner.

I cut mine right before the clamp and it works fine.

So why can't these for from the manufacturer??? That seems weird that you have to do this.

That's why it's called modding. Part of the game is tinkering & finding ways to make things work. If it was too easy, everybody would do it & everybody would have 8 second trucks.

How does the assassin bars work with a bell tech 3/5 drop kit and their flip kit? Do you have to change the axle perches and anything else?

There's a thread with pictures of an install on a truck with a flip kit.
