Default Transmission Upgrades

I am wanting to do a few things on my Z71 but not to the extent of what I did with my crew cab.

Thinking about installing the Vette or Billet int. servo along with the OD servo. Anything else to invest in? I had the vette servo and transgo and hard parts and a converter in my other truck. I am not going to install a shift kit in this one, but would like to firm up the shifts a little bit. Might add a Trailblazer stall a little down the road. Would be a good idea to add the hardened seperator plate too I would think.

But I was looking online at a transmission place and they were selling a valve for the 4l60e to allow the 3-2 downshift. Anybody no about this?

Like I said, definitely not going to do the shift kit, but want just a bit better shifts and performance out of it.

hey curtis, I just did the vette servos installed, if you are interested I'll hook you up with my friend, he is the transmission tech at a local dealership... I sure did notice the shifts after the servo install...

Just get the vette servo and the billet od servo then get Allen or whoever to tune it and that hsould be as stiff as you want. Teh seperator plate is a VERY good idea. When I was over at the guys house who built my trans he showed me a seperator plate out oa 35,000 mile tranny then showed me a new it was like night and day the old one was worn through in a bunch of places. The tb stall will make the truck MUCH more driveable. My 3000 made a night and day difference. Let me know when you want to do the stall Im somewhat of an expert at pulling the trans and t-case after doing it 3 times

Yeah, Cody, I'll let ya know. It won't be for a while, well the servo's will probably go in pretty soon, but the converter will be a little while.

I know what you mean about the seperator plate. When I did the transgo on my crew cab, the guy who did mine showed me the stock plate and this was at 20,000 miles on it, and it was already showing pretty good wear on it.
