Default Transmission Suggestions

I'm trying to figure out what to do with the tranny in my 05 Tahoe 5.3 4x4
Shop told me Torque is going out and I figured I'd go ahead and replace or rebuild the tranny.
I'm doing Long tubes cat back CAI and a custom tune once everything is done and want to retain the towing capabilities of the truck.
No racing or anything like that just need something strong and reliable.

Any Suggestions would help

The obvious answer is a custom TH400 with a transbrake and high stall converter.

jk

Like the above, whats wrong and how much $$ do you want to spend?

Slipping, hard shift usually under light acceleration when you give it more gas it doesn't slip but will still shift hard
But usually only after a lot of stop and go driving
Feels "loose" under throttle on the highway but I've been babying it for a year no WOT highway passing or hole shots at the stop lights
Has a check engine light on but can't remember the code.
