Default Transmission Rebuild help!

Thanks for the help ahead of time. I'm going to the transmission shop tomorrow to talk to them about rebuilding my transmission . I need some good advice what do i need to tell him to put in it. kavalar bands or something like that right? A billet output shaft? Im guessing A new oil pump? Some type of shiftkit what kind? corvette servos 2 and 4. depending on how much that runs I might get a 3000 pi or should i do 3.90 yukons?

you'd probably be better off to put the stall in when you do the tranny, if not you'll wish you had. but gears are nice too

if i were you and wanted a good trans build and you werent going to get a FLT go to the FLT website and get a list of what they put in their trans and go from there

Other's have spent less and had to rebuild, sometimes multiple times. I have yet to hear about an FLT issue. I love mine.

i would

as a side note a better transmission will NOT improve track times unless your current one is slipping, now a stall will help a good bit but the transmission wont help unless your curent one is slipping

okay i know a stall will help but will my tranny take the abuse stock of a 3000k stall. I thought shift kits would help that trans work better. also if the tranny does brake it could screw up the stall right and then i'm looking at a new stall and tranny. Do you guys just thing I should just get the 3.90 done now and a few months later just buy the fltl5 tranny and pi stall.

i think the 3.90 gears will help your tranny out untill your able to get a built unit...it takes less load to move 3.90 gears then say 3.08's or 3.42's...i know many that have thrown in a 3k stall verter and next week install a new tranny cause of slippage or break the thing....the only thing youll have to worry about then is your drive shaft...make shure you get it balanced ...good luck with your mods!!!

Alright I'm going to go get 3.90 gears instead and try to get them installed this week.
