Default transmission problems.

When I come to a complete stop it seems like my transmission doeant want to down shift to 1st. It feels like its staying in 3rd and. I have the 40gvw cooler along. With the -6 an lines. But it was still heating uo to almost 300 degrees. Any input?

If it feels like the trans is staying in 3rd when its that hot I would consider a couple of things. First get a heat gun and hit the pan to see if in fact its getting to 300*. Now either the computer is putting your trans into a limp mode condition which keeps it in 3rd because of the heat. Or you have an issue with a direct clutch welding itself together thus the reason for the heat and the 3rd gear start condition. Another possibility is the trans has another internal condition and debris from it are hanging up your valve body.

It shouldn't have any ddebri as it was just rebuilt. But before it started doing this I've noticed thar when put in gear it doeannt fully engage until you give it a little throttle. Then it kinda "pops" Into gear. Even when I put it in first it will stay in third and will drop to first with almost half throttle then go right back in third. And its intermintent. Sometines it will drive good for 30 minutes. Other Times it will drive like **** the whole time im in it.

And I am pretty sure it got that hot because it was staying in 3rd. Cause it was fibe all day until that started happening.

Its from the opposite side. The passenger side. It was laying on there when I dropped the valvle body. I didn't hear anything fall at all.
