Default transmission cooler line fittings

I wore through my metal cooler line so I'm replacing then with rubber hydraulic hose. I got 1/4 nps to -6 AN for the trans side. I read that the radiator side was 1/2 npt. I thought that looked big when i got the fitting. Well, it turns out that they're also 1/4 nps. the problem is that there is a washer built into the factory to hold the radiator core in place. I don't Havre that. I just used some washers. Anyone encounter this? Is it ok? Seems like it might be possible to introduce water into my transmission. I made this post on my phone so i hope the pics work out.

i wasnt too convinced on doing something like this.
so i used the pure choice motorsports AN adapter to make those fittings on the radiator AN.
