Default Transmission/converter problems

my truck has been having some hiccups here in the last couple of weeks. What's its doin is at lower speeds/rpms is the converter is locking up. Like running 15-20 mph the converter will lock up unlock prolly three or 4 times it did it a couple weeks ago and then it quit and did fine. Well tonite I get in my truck just barly on the throttle just to get it moving once I hit bout 15 mph or so it starts locking and unlocking again then once I get above say 30 it quits but then I noticed it wasn't locking up once I got on the highway. I'm pretty sure its just my converter that is the problem. So can I just buy another converter and throw in there or does it sound like I have problems elsewhere cuz I'm clueless when it comes to transmissions. Up until couple of weeks ago it was doing just fine never has missed a beat then it messed up and I put some lucas stop slip in it just to see if anything changed and she drove just like it did for two weeks or so till tonite. Even today on the highway it worked flawlessly the only thing I have noticed is that the converter has been locking up harder than it did before but I figured the new wheels and tires being so much heavier just made it seem worse.

My converter started out as a yank TT3000 but chris(lownslo) had the converter rebuilt in jackson. I'm guessing the my converter is my problem but I was gunna ask yall becuz a lot of you know tonz more than me.

I know that's long but I greatly appreciate any help

Thanx,
Garrett

you have to pull the pan to change that but do you have to pull the valve body? i know nothing about trans or not enough to work on em

last night it did it but i drove it two times today and not s single hiccup. wich leads me to believe that its not like a hard part or somthing but some sort of sensor or somthing goin bad

Well we got to looking and I had a history code of a tps so I swapped out my throttle body for another one I had laying around and it hasn't done this again but now we have a new problem

The converter will lock somtimes just like its suppost to then somtime you have to give it alittle throttle and then she will lock up. And sometimes it won't lock up at all? I'm planning to change the fluid filter and tcc solenoid to see if that does anything. Do yall think that will be my problem or is my converter fixin to take a dump? Only reason I think it will be the solenoid is because when it works it works fine but then somtimes it don't work at all that's why I'm thinking somthing electrical or somthing.

thanx fellas I really need and help advise you got cuz I don't wanna buy a new converter till I get a new trans wich prolly won't be long since she has 142k on it

4l80 swap! Do it poser!!!!! at least you had a idea yours was gonna go, mine just locked up and quit moving haha! Yea that converter was in my truck but before i put it in, I had a local place here cut and clean it and make sure it looked good. He put new clutches and machined a sprag or something like that. Made it stall higher and all that good stuff! Its a sweet converter but seems to be a tranny killer.....
