Default Transgo HD2..... Skipped a step, guess I'm going back in

Realized yesterday that there are two "Step 6" in the Transgo HD-2 instructions!!! I did the second one but not the first. I didn't drill holes A, B and C in the new Transgo Plate!!!! Are the holes already drilled to the soft setting? I'm going out of town until Friday night and installing the trans Saturday Morning, guess I know what Friday night will be like, haha. What size holes do you guys recomend for a DD with crisp but not jarring shifts. I'm thinking somewhere between soft and average. Should they all be drilled out the same or should I size them differently (ie, I know 2nd in notoriously firmer than 3rd)

Bump, anyone know what size the holes are from Transgo? Gonna be home late tonight and not looking forward to tearing it down again.

Just call TransGo the people are very helpfull. Call them this week for help on softening my 2nd gear. I'm going to have to install a new seperator plate and not drill 2nd, but I will drill all others.

Another quicky, do I extend the upper or lower cooler line to go to the rear of the 4 l80? I'm refering to the position on the tranny side.

Glad I went back in now, one of the holes was .076 which is the softest recomended size, but the others were even smaller, so I opened them up just a little.

Sonnax has a kit for this on earlier 80 units that get converted to the later center lube units. 34918-01K is the part #. Nor sure how that will work on a unit with the quick disconnect fittings. Try to PM Gregg Nader
here to see if he has some info on it. Vince B

Thanks, I extended the upper line with a -4 line because it comes directly from the factory cooler and it just seems like that would be the return. So far my temps are in check so I guess it's doing it's job. Gonna be installing a tru-cool max soon anyway, it's sitting in the garage, just gotta find time. Planning to bypass the radiator all together and just run it by itself.

I've read that it's a bad idea to bypass the radiator because the radiator helps the trans fluid warm up during the first few minutes of driving. Double check that though, but I ran my 40k cooler through the radiator because of this.
