which shift kit is better the trg-4l60e or the trg-4l60e-hd2...the hd2 is only $77 and the other is $130

HD2. You don't need/want the full manual reprogramming one. At least I wouldn't. The transgo SK kit just fixes the laundry list of issues with the 4L60E. As far as I know the 4L60E HD2 kit still doesn't come with a seperator plate and you will want to get a new one. My 99 with 130k was all but ready to blow some check ***** through the plate.

my truck only has 42000 miles you think i still need a seperator plate?

have no idea how hard it is never done one....it looks like it might be simple thought just replacing stuff thats already there.

I am pretty mechanically inclined and put my magnacharger on myself along with other mods but never delved into the tranny.

I too installed my Maggie,cam,headers etc. but after watching my tranny guy do my HD2 install with separator plate, servo, accum. pistons and reworking some valves, I'm glad that I did not attempt this on my own. It was a lot more involved than I ever realized.
That is one job I was happy to leave to a pro.
