Default transfer case?

so i got the new tranny in and were about done but we went to hook the new t-case in and there is 2 issues. the new one is from a 2000 or so model and it has a rectangle type connection for the shift motor shaft. and my old one has a circular on. any ideas? also the old ones harness is different. it has 2 different wire harnesses, and my harness only has one. could we just cut and splice the harness i have to fit the old style if i can find the schematic's ?

Default

the only 2 things we can think of doing is, trying to swap the input shafts. and or trying to find the 2 connections for the older style actuator motor and cut and splice a new harness???
