Default trans problems

i have made another thread about the cost of replacement as i am looking to repalce only and not upgrade.

right now it doesnt like to go into gear anymore. it does ok in first but wont rev to over 3krpms in any gear, it will shift in to second ok but not like it should. getting into third can be a chore. 4th and TCC lockup is pure luck, but if i can get it into gear it doesnt fall out (yet) but its getting it to go into gear thats hard. it makes a LOUD bang or pop when it tries to go into gear and sometimes it will do it multiple times before it actually goes into gear. if i try to accelerate to the point it needs to downshift it just free revs.

my question is is this a possible easy fix ? and

will it hurt the trans to keep driving it like this until i can get it in the shop and borrow money to get it fixed.

Easy fix or not... unknown. No doubt the trans will have to be torn into.

IMO driving it will make it worse. Loud pops and clunks are never good. I'd say it will wind up stranding you.
