Well the sound has gotten worse and it is defiantly coming from the trans. It sounds like a power steering pump howling when its low on fluid. I took the belt off and started it and has the same sound. It howls for mabyee 5 seconds and goes away. Kind of like the pump has to reprime or sucking air. Trans is full of fluid and shifts fine just a howling between shifts. Anyone know a good trans shop in the Kennesaw GA. Area?

Well found the source of the noise in the trans. Turns out the filter media broke loose from inside the filter housing and was sucked up the tube that leads the the pump. Caused a restriction making the pump cavitate between shifts when there is a larger demand for oil flow. New Filter & Oil = No More Noise!

Do you have a picture of this? I would like to see what the filter material looked like. I have seen this a few times in Ford units and the filter is totally melted. I believe when this happened in these Ford units the TCC was not working properly and the trans got real hot.
