Default Trans cooler?

My 4l80e should be here Monday. While talking to Sean at Speed Engineering the other day, He told me to look into a Trans cooler for my truck. I was looking around the truck for a place to mount it when I realized mine already has a cooler on it, (Besides the radiator). Is this a Z71 option maybe? Or is the cooler on all trucks and I need a bigger one?

I posted this in the Performance section, but I think it belongs here.

You still need another one all trucks have them. Get a remote mount and run through the stock one first then the aftermarket one.

Do you mean the one in the radiator? Because mine has that one and another in front of the radiator.

Some trucks that have a towing package or something like that will have an auxilary trans cooler mounted in front of the condenser in the same spot where we've all been adding ours. Not sure what it's capable of though.

Agreed. My front OEM (came with towing package) does fine unless I pull a heavy load or it's really hot out. My temp stays below 195 degrees unless I'm pulling a long grade with trailer on a hot (over 90) day. I normally tow around 3500-4000 lbs. If I were towing anything bigger or lived in the south, I would definitely put a better unit in. They say if your temps get over 200 it will reduce the life of the fluid and trans.
