Not a tuning problem, was the truck at running temps when converter wouldn't lockup? Next did you check the trans fluid? With the scan tool they should beable to check the trans with in minutes of driveing the truck, well atleast they can here lol, good luck.

i figured that. i called allen to make sure and said it wasn't a tuning problem. at any temp it wouldn't lockup. trans fluid was red and full on the dipstick. they hooked up the scanner and nothing came up. i think the converter lockup is done. the truck still shifts awsome and pulls hard in every gear like it was before until it stoped locking up. i'm thinking of buying a fuddle converter and just doing the job myself.

well after reading all sorts of treads of converters not locking up and after speaking with a tci rep, we came to the conclusion that the converter clutch is damaged. by the way, you know how everyone's always bashing on tci's customer service, well they're sending me a brand new upgraded one with the billet steel front cover. all i had to do was put a deposit until they get my old one and i will be refunded. i surely hope this fixes the problem... lance

Did you tell them you jammed the converter in to the pump ? And you didnt have the converter cut open checked and cleaned after you did it? How about the trans when you mashed the pump, did it get disassembled cleaned and all new seals?Reasons like this guys seem to have never ending tranny issues.

Like Gonzo said, if you don't clean the lines and the tranny you're most likely gonna get crap back in the converter. Ask your tranny guy about blowing out the lines and the cooler etc so you don't cycle all that crap back into the new stall.

the trans was totally rebuilt by the tranny shop after i broke the pump. we let the converter drain but no evidence of metal came out of it so we took a chance putting it back in. truck ran awsome with the built tranny, got into the 12's, put 5k miles on it in 4 months and one day it just decides it won't lockup. could be some metal got lodged away in the converter and after some good miles and breaking in put on it, maybe it ate away the clutch. or it could be some high speed WOT 135mph sprint that made it croak.

If you have to tell them, then you are not dealing with a pro shop.
Have them show you the equipment or ask them is there anything that needs done before R-B trans is installed?See if they pipe up and mention flush the cooler & lines & radiator cooler.
Local converter shop should cut it open disassemble clean inspect reassemble balance and paint for around $80,cheap insurance for a trans you may want to protect.
