Default Tranny Shift Funny.

I think i got a problem. When my tranny is shifting from first to second or when i get on the gas and it downshifts, the engine revs up real high before shifting. Just wondering if it sounds like my tranny is slipping and would a fluid and filter change maybe help. i was fixing to buy a transgo shift kit, but should i just get the thing rebuilt? It dont really do it when i am just going along. Just when i get on it hard.

might as well build it. It sounds like a slip, and with that s/c the time will soon come.

I recommend FLT. They are a sponsor on here and there is a link on the right>>>

Chuck is a great guy to deal with, excellent customer service!

Reving up on a 1-2 shift? That's odd. Nothing disengages on the 1-2. You must be having slippage in the forward clutch pack. This can happen from an internal leak somewhere. Since it's associated with the 1-2 shift I could guess there may be a broken lip seal on the accumulator, second apply piston (aka "servo") or maybe a blown out section of a valve body gasket. If you have ever done programming to increase shift firmness there could be other damage, namely to the thrust washers.
In my opinion, changing the fluid at this point would be a waste of new fluid and filter. Sorry man.
