NOw that i have some new found power, my tranny is not liking it,

on a 55 punch sometimes it wont downshift and just freerev to the limiter, other times it will hesitate then go, and sometimes when it does downshift, i can almost feel like a double shift after its taken off.

what could be wrong, simple part or is it time for a rebuild?

Sounds like your band is burnt. Do you still have 4th?

 

Ya, im with these guys.... Mine was doing almost the same thing after i cammed my 5.3L... If i punched it at around 60-70 and it went down to 2nd, it would slip and hesitate b4 grabbing the gear... I even had it do the rev limiter tap when i was on it hard getting on the highway during the 1-2 shift... The tranny man said my band was shot. You might wanna take er easy till you can get it built bro... It aint gonna last much longer.

i have no problems when manually shifting, it does good that way.
