Default Tranny Problems

On my way to work on Thursday I was trying to enter the highway. There is not much a yield lane to gain speed so occasionally you need to really get into it to avoid accidents. When I tried to get on, the truck went maybe 200 yards, shifted into 2nd and BANG no forward movement. I coasted to the side and that was it. No visable parts broken and no fluid lost. I had it towed to my home. The tow truck driver first picked up the front end to try and tow it but the rear wheels were locked. He ended up picking up the rear and we were off. Today with some daylight before the snow storm I tried to see what was happening. The only movement I can get out of it is in reverse and even that is not what it should be. What I did notice that was strange to me is with the rear wheels in the air and the transmission in reverse, the front driveshaft is spinning but I am in 2WD. (this should not be happening) If I select 4WD the front wheels will engage but again only in reverse and not what it should be. Did I blow up both my transmission and tranfer case? Anything I could look for in particular? The truck has all the mods listed in my signature and only 84K on the odometer. All the internal tranny mods were done with around 10K on the odometer. ANy help/suggestions would be appreciated.

sorry i cant help much... but if yo have an autotrac tansfercase (auto 4wd button) then your front shaft spins in both 2 and 4wd so thats normal operation... and if the wheels are turning when you have it in reverse then id bet your t-case is okay

Yeah after I wrote that I thought about it and I understand that no matter what the front shaft will spin. What I did noticed was that it was much louder than normal. I am pretty sure my tranny took a dump. Anyone have any suggestions as to who to purchase one from>?
