Same thing happened to mine. Reverse was gone for a couple days but randomly came back. Had to drive in 1 then 2 then could go to D. If I gave it over 2k rpm in 1/2 there'd be a grinding noise.

Where are you located?

I'd call around some shops if you were looking to go the cheap route.
I'm assuming it's a 4L60e, cheapest way would to have it rebuilt ( mine as well freshen it up if it's out of the truck)

How many miles on it?

I'm sure there are a lot of reputable builders in the area. A lot of guys (and possibly women) on here are from Texas. If you're looking to upgrade check out the pt.net sponsors such as FLT and Performance Built. Links are on the side------->

Either a reputable tranny shop that knows about 4l60e's, upgrade to a 4L80e, or get a performance built lvl 2 or up replacement /or FLT lvl 5-7
