Most Shift kits include a gasket... I use sealant only on cast and gaskets only with stamped pans.

Wow, interesting, I got the Hughes Deep Pan. Do you use the Black Sealant?

I use factory gasket, no sealant. Comes with filter. No problems.

A new one came with the trans filter. I didn't use it though, the stock one was perfectly fine so I just reused it.

I cant see how as the filter screen is much smaller than would allow any material to pass ant the area around the screen would require a substantial blockage to cause any fuild deprivation.

I have built about a dozen or so trannmissions with B&M deep pans with no problems in this matter ... I guess it is just attention to detail. Anyone one can screw up anything if enough care is not taken.

The stock GM gasket on a 4L80E is very good quality and is reusable. I would just reuse the stock gasket.
