Default Tranny is gone. Have ?'s please help

Well after losing 2nd 3 months ago i finally lost 3rd. What i need to know is what trannies will fit my 02 rcsb 2wd 4.8 silverado. I'm going to go look around some junkyards and hopefully find a fresh pullout out of a newer truck. My ? is what years will fit and what trannies will fit. I need to now asap. Also is my core worth anything? I really appreciate any help thanks.

Any 4L60 from 99 on up for a 2wd should work fine. Core depends on how bad the damage is, but doesn't sound to bad.

I found a tranny in 03 tahoe with 25k on it for $600. I should be picking it up tommorow. It will fit right? It's an 03 2wd 5.3 tahoe and mine is a 02 4.8 2wd.

i have one out of my 01 4l60e with trango hd2 shift kit but i don't know what its worth. it has 42k on it. i know i paid 600.00 2k ago for new plate, billet servos, shift kit and install. the only reason i pulled it because i plan on making 700 rwhp and i new it wouldn't last long.

Is this the same tranny or did you already replace it months ago?
