Default Tranny gettin TOO hot

I got my trck back running last Tues, and its been doing great, but yesterday on the way home from work, I noticed the tranny temps getting up to about 210 (they usually stay around 180 or less) I turned the fans on and usually this dropps the temp quick, but they kept climbing. Got to 250 I changed teh fluid when I got home, and it didn't look too bad, but I noticed some fluid dripping from the bell housing that was pretty dark.

I'm thinking one of my coolant lines may be plugged any ideas? BTW Im using the stock cooler and a 22,500GVW cooler too.

250 is pretty high espically because 700R4/4L60E's hate heat a line could be cloged... but I dont know what could get in them maybe take the lines off and run some air threw them...

It is possible that something is clogged considering that you've blown a few transmissions recently. If your auxilary cooler is the stacked plate design, it may be clogged...I remember reading somewhere that the stacked plate coolers clog easily once the trans smokes.

Thanks. Yes budhays, it is a stacked plate. I was going to get a tube/fin, but heard they didnt cool as well, so I got the stacked plate. I'm hoping the fitting is plugged. I broke both trans lines at the fitting, and I only had 1 1/4npt to 3/8 tube fitting, so the other has 1/4 to 1/4 then a 1/4 tube to 3/8 adapter, so I hope the plug (hopefully thats the problem) is in the 1/4 tube.
