just got the truck to the tranny shop. whatever was breaking finally broke and i coasted the truck uphill about 1/8th mile and turned left going downhill into the guys shop. woohoo, thank the Lord it coasted that far. i just heard one last little "ching" and then it free revved. does that still sound like flexplate or converter bolts to everyone. also, what are the odds that i hurt the rest of the tranny with this thing?

doh, just noticed the rock-on in your sig. could be lots of things. keep us posted. if it was the pump, check the wear on the bearing and make sure the converter and flexplate are playing nicely.

let me rephrase my previous quote..... I have cracked many many many 60E flexplates in the 98 k1500 with a 383 and maggie on top.... and also in my wagon with the vette motor....

I dont think my 4.8 could crack a honda flexplate...

i just found out that the pump is grenaded, flexplate is getting changed regardless and do yall know if i will i have to send the converter back to Yank? the local builder is supposed to go through the whole tranny and make sure that Rock-ON did their job. In case they didnt is there a class action lawsuit against them where i can recover my money. if its the converter do you think Yank will make good oh helping me replace my tranny? i will keep everyone posted cuz im not in the greatest mood right now.

both those companies will make good, if you send them their product back. My yank's needle bearings went out and he did me good. As far as the converter goes.

If the pump is the only thing damaged, I would suspect the converter loose on the flexplate and/or warped flexplate. Something not lining up correctly.

i actually had the tranny installed at Rock-On and they seem like really good guys but now they are no longer a sponsor due to many unresolved issues with other customers on ls1tech and i cant get hold of them at all. thats why i said something about a lawsuit(really just overly angry at the time) its probably not their fault cuz most people ive talked to seem to think the flywheel or converter is what tore up the pump. i was just so mad cuz i just replaced the tranny, just moved, and basically have no money. oh well, as long as it gets fixed.......

I found out the hard way if the converter is not deep enough in the tranny it will pop the pump time and time again. The tranny people should know that though if they put it in.

hey guys I have been having this same problem and I have far fewer mods and know how than you all. I was underneath trying to locate the sound and I noticed my starter drive gear was staying out and periodically making contact with the flywheel causing my problem. Why is it not returning?? Its magnetic right so..........worn out, bad solenoid er.....??
