Default Tranny cooler Questions..

I've got the Towing package do you think i might wanna invest in a bigger one?
I can get a Few B&M's at my work one for 24,xxx lbs and one for 28,xxx. Would i want one of these over stock?

Everyone always says go bigger and that stock isnt enough. I have the tow package and my stocker keeps my temps just fine. Im always in the 140 / 150 range, even colder on cold days but will creep up to 180 or so if I am really hammering on it in the hills in medium / higher outside temps and getting a lot of shifts out of it but never any higher to date.

Heres my personal take - if the trans is not running hot post tune, shift kit / stall, whatever then why bother? Waste of beer money.

I base my decision on temps and trans behavior or if I will need it later on. Right now - stocker does the job just fine. On your truck, if the stock one is doing the job, I dont see a need. After watching temps and such in my case it was a "want" but definitely not a "need"

But if/when you do need one, the B&M will fit in the stock location without cutting trans lines. You do have to trim the bottom cross bar and cut the top mounts off the old cooler but........................

Didn't somebody add a cooler to the stock one? What were the results of this?

So what's a good temp for your tranny to sit at? Mine creeps up to 200-210 from time to time. Fluid still looks good though.
