trailblazer tc question
#1
well i just got done with my engine swap and put it on the dyno and snaped the drive shaft. It cracked the trans housing, so trans is coming out. My question is what stall would the trailblazer tc stall at with a 6.0. How would my drivablity go with a tc? I have never drove in a truck with one in. Would i not be able to tow? Im going to lift my truck on 40 inch tires? need help thanx.

you would be able to tow yes... i dont think quite as much as with the stock converter.. but its not that much of a difference. The TB stall behind the 6.0 should stall around 2500-2600rpms. It is a very good daily driver/track stall... unless you go with a huge cam and need more rpms off the line.. than the tb is great...
are you using a 60e behind that 6.0?
are you using a 60e behind that 6.0?

Yea, mine stalles to about 2600 or so behind my 6l. I dont like it, its too mutch like stock, but my cam is a little big for it too. If you plan to go with 40's later, Id recomend it, or as an upgrade from stock.

yeah im using a 4l60e. im not sure how tc works, is it only when i put my foot on the brake stand when it stalls at 2600? or when i just give it gas and no brake? any help would be nice.

well.. what your talking about is a brake stall.. the converter will also have a certian flash speed... which if i understand correctly, is actually what the rpms will drop to between shifts... and im not really sure what the tb's flash speed is.

Flash stall is found by letting the truck roll with no input (idle) and stomping the gas the rpms when the truck starts to really move is your "flash" stall. This is what most converters are rated at as far as I know. Go look at fuddleracing.com, there is a lot of info about stall speed ratings and other stuff you may fing interesting.

Oh mine "flashes" to about 25-2700. My TCI 3000 flashed to about 32-3500. The TB isn't a bad converter, I just need a little more out of it. The TCI was too loose, and the TB is too tight, and stalls too low.
