Default TQ converter or Transmisson? need help

Well I have a problem and I dont know if its the tq converter or the transmission or both.

Sometimes when I leave from a light it slowy goes then it kicks in and slowy picks up speed then it runs like normal like its debating if it wants to leave the light or not. Also when I get up to 80-90mph it gets hung at 5600rpm at full throttle punch and it wont shift. I had my shift points changed to that but it acts like it ran out of transmission or go power. Tonight I was at 70 and floored it and it climbed slowly like I was barely on the gas. But when Im barely am on the gas it goes better. Just off and on when I gas on it, it acts like its not sure if it wants to give me any power.

So does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Please say tq converter...little bit cheaper to replace. Anyway thank you in advance!

Exact same thing just happened to me while driving home... i was at a light.. light turned green... slowly climbed.. found shift point.. slammed into 2nd. 2nd climbed up slowly as well.... then shifted and it was fine. from a 75 punch.. it shoots up to 5600-5800rpm.. but doesn't shift..

i'm really curious to know what the f*ck is up!

Guys though anything is possible to me that sounds more like a running problem than a trans or converter problem Particulary if the RPMs go up and hang but you dont hit the rev limter.

i just talked to my buddy.. and he told me its the beginning signs of transmission failure. He said i have some time to get it fixed.. but there's no time like the present! So hello credit card i guess....
