Default Torsion bar isolators

My torsion bar crossmember looks all cocked like the isolators are worn out. It's a Tahoe so they are welded to the frame and the rubber is bonded to the bracket so there is really no easy way to replace them. Anyone ever run into this? What if I weld them solid so that the crossmember isn't isolated with the rubber bushings? Think it would cause problems?

I'm not sure how much different the Tahoe is, but on the trucks, you need to grind 4 rivets off of each mount, from the outside of the frame. They are replaced with bolts and nuts.

The tahoe is different. The frame is fully boxed. There aren't any rivets. It looks like the same part but it's completely welded on.

We welded new isolators on and they were just as flexible as the original ones so that was a waste of time and effort. But then, since my dad works at a precision sheet metal shop, he got some parts cut on the laser.

Here's how the go on:

It stiffenned it right up. It feels solid now. Now I'll just have to see if it rides any differently or if it causes any unexpected problems.
