There are a couple people who have done the conversion but you have to have a lift kit that drops the front diff down away from the oil pan. Apparently there are some clearance issues, I never researched it fully but I do remember them saying there is no way to run a 9.25 front diff in the stock location of an 8.25 due to the size difference and clearance issues.

I mean to buy a 9.25 front diff with a truck wrapped around it. We got 20.5" of snow yesterday and I was pretty disappointed in the alternating front wheel spinning in the deep snow. The rear was working good, the front not so much.

so with say a 6" lift kit i could also do a 9.25 swap. the question is does it bolt to the same spot just bigger? and what about axles i guess you need new hubs too?

Ill look for the thread it was on another site, Ill PM it to you when I find it. They had to do some mods to the diff and a couple other things the best I can remember.
