Only you can decide what you would want, but if it were me, I'd go with a 9.5 triple disk. That will also give you room to grow. You know you'll never be 'done' with the truck.

For a naturally asperated setup (especially with small cubes) you need to go to the 9.5" to get any stall speed over 3,000. As for the clutch, unless you tow alot with it the lock up will be just fine. You won't be locking it in the quarter anyway and you don't make enough power to hurt it when it does lock.

It would flash to 28-3000 depending on if my truck was warmed up. I could stand on it and make it brake stall well over 4k. (Don't recommend it though.) Drivability was not nearly as good but it sure was faster.
Some good info there. I think cam & convertor change vehicle's personality & contribute alot of confusion for potential buyers. Knowledge is power.

Thanks for all the posts/opinions, I will be ordering one next friday, and I am still undecided.... However I am leaning towards the TT3000, for simplistic sake... Good manners, may not be the best performance, but it is the middle ground I am looking for...

I don't think you can beat the tt3000 for wht you are doing. If you ever toss a bigger motor in you can change converters then and sell the tt easily since they are such good converters.

You must have good luck, The same day I bought the truck the yank exploded. I think Im making alittle bit more power than you, but Im lighter than yours. Even when I had it fixed by phoenix, they told me it was set up all wrong.. The vigilante is holding up so far...

I just spoke to Yank and they recommended the SST3200, since I have a 4.8... He said that converter would stall to ~2900-3000... I mentioned the TT3000 and he said it would only stall to ~2400 behind my 4.8....

I also just spoke to PI and they recommended a 10.5 triple disk 2600... Kinda wierd thing is that he didn't even ask what size motor I had....

The one thing I found with P.I. is that their product is great, but customer service and recomendations aren't. The also rarely hit the stall speed that you ask for.
