Default Torque Converter question

My friend has a 4L60E high stall converter (think he said 3200 stall) but its for his 94 k1500 (still a 4L60E). He is not going to use it, so he offered to give it to me. Would this work in my 00 silverado 4L60E? I will have my trans out for a rebuild next week so if it does work I can just throw it in and save some cash. I was reading the spline count could be different?

That is a little disappointing ...... any idea what the differences were? What years would fit my silverado, or a good stock replacement converter with a higher stall, not anything really high. I know the TB are good but can't find a torque converter around from one.

I can't tell you for sure, but the ls1 and lt1 converters won't interchange. Maybe a sponser will chime in with the correct information.

The spline counts are the same. But the shaft for the LT engine is 298mm and 300mm for the LS engine. Anything 98 & up would fit your Silverado.

Thank you for the information. My friend also has a converter from a trailblazer with the I6, he said stock stall for those were 1800-2000rpms, but I was reading if I used that it would be closer to 2500rpm behind a 5.3. Is this true? He is willing to give me the converter for free since he is trying to clean his garage up some

yay !! he just told me it has around 35k miles on it if that. So I will grab it and throw it in when I pull the 4L60E to rebuild I figured for free and I will have the transmission out anyways wont hurt anything to drop this in.

So the trailblazer stall should be enough to notice?
