Default Tools?

Well im kinda tossing around the idea of learning about how to build and rebuild transmissions. theres only one guy around here that does them and hes booked for like 6-8 months and i figure its something i can do in my free time. my question is can anyone help me look at what tools id need? we have a college in town that offers classes i just wanto have my ducks in a row and know what im diving into before i decide to take the plunge

The first thing I would suggest getting would be an ATSG manual to see what you will be dealing with. From there there are some special tools that are required. In some cases depending on what you already own there are was around using them. It all depends on how creative you want to get. I own all the tools to build these units because of my history in the industry however I have seen some of you guys get pretty creative without spending money on the proper tools. Keep one thing in mind its not like baking a cake and its not for all to master. Best of luck. Vince

thanks dude, ya im mainly interested in it because there isnt any solid builders around here and i figure thats a good place to start plus the college in town has a few classes to atleast get me on my feet
