Default Tire question?

I have some 20's on my truck i bought some stock tires. My question is would i see a gain in my 1/4 time from going from a 285 to a 235, and weighing 10 lbs difference each?

the gain woul dbe in the shorter tire, that would look stupid with a 20inch 235 though. You could however get some stock chevy 17inch wheel maybe 16's and throw some rubber on them and that should give you a decent reduction.

if you have any decent amount of mods you wont have a chance of catching any traction with the 235's. if you baby it out of the hole you might cut a little time.

235 will give you a cross section with of 9.25". So figure about 1 in for edge of tire. That would give you a contact patch of 8.25".
