Default time for a toreque converter?

i have intake headers and exhuast. next im getting a tune, then tranny work. i have plans for heads and a cam after that. what im wondering is should i do the servos, shift kit and wait to get a torque converter untill i install my cam or should i do the torque converter with the tune and other tranny stuff?

i just didnt wanna get one if its gonna be too much for the truck right now or whatever. if its better to wait for the cam i will, but i dont wanna deal with the tranny twice if i can help it since ill be doing the work myself. id rather put the tranny on a bench and put it back in with a new converter.

well thats another thing. i was gonna go with a ls6 cam but i wanted to ask you guys or look on my own for other availabilities. its a daily driver but i wanna make people cry. if theres another cam from comp or someone else that will give me more power than the ls6 then im all ears. appreciate the help from everyone. anyway to answer your question id go between 2800-3200 for a converter. im doing stock heads ported, ls6 springs and valves, new rockers and pushrods. thanks guys

whats your current setup? give us every power mod, model of the truck, motor size etc...theres tons of cams out there that will make more power than the ls6 cam.

its on 06 sierra extended cab 5.3. i have k&n aircharger intake, gibson shorty headers and 3 chamber delta flow cat back exhuast. considering going to long tube headers and different exhuast (after all the other mods). i dont have a tune right now but it is my next purchase. after that im doing the tranny work. i think ive decided on hp tuners for that part and the trans interals from flt. anyway, what are you guys running for cams? whats the most ideal for a nasty daily driver. thanks.

i see some people are running in the 12's naturally aspirated, thats where id like to be. if anyone has any recommendations for a daily driven cam im up for it, and a torque converter to match it. but back to my main question, should i wait to put a torque conveter with my cam or go ahead and put it in now with the other tranny parts and tune. (with headers intake and exhuast)
