I want something that will still drive as close to normal as possible in the city, and will stall somewhere between 2400-2600 at the track. I tow a boat during the summer, so it can't be too loose or I will burn it up. I remember hearing something about the Vig triple-disc being a good choice, what about the other brands? PPI? TCI? Restalled stocker?
It's going behind a 216/224-551/551-115 cammed LQ9 with a Radix, 3" pulley, and 90mm TB.
FWIW...the stocker in my 4L60E stalled to 2200 with the Radix, 5.3, and 210/218 cam.

Art Carr can restall the stock 4l80e converter for around 2600rpm, and it can be used for towing. costs about half as much as new converter. I have a stocker that I just might try it on. Or.... You could and tell me how you like it. lol

I ended up going with a Hughes - I guess they have a reputation for being 4L80E specialists and they are local here in Phoenix. They have a heavy-duty towing converter that should stall up to 2300 or so hopefully. Good price too.
